A smarter front-end for the tmux control socket.

Hangar drives tmux over its control protocol and renders it with more bells and whistles — its own UI instead of tmux's terminal drawing, geared for heavy, broad AI/LLM work: many agents, many panes, one cockpit. Built alongside ACE.

what is hangar

Hangar speaks tmux's control protocol and puts a richer front-end on top — its own rendering logic in place of tmux's terminal drawing. Where a raw session shows you panes, Hangar is built to orchestrate and watch many AI/LLM sessions at once.

how it works

  1. Attach to a tmux server over its control socket.
  2. Hangar renders sessions, windows, and panes with its own UI.
  3. Drive broad, concurrent AI work across many agents from one surface.
